Isabelle A. Burke, 88, of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at her residence at Holy Spirit Retirement Community.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 9 at Holy Spirit Chapel in Sioux City. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday, Dec. 8 from 4-8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:00 p.m., all at Larkin Northside Chapel of Christy-Smith Funeral Homes in Sioux City. Isabelle Burke was born March 25, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Harmon and Bridget (Lang) Buckley. She was raised and educated in Waterloo. She graduated from Sacred Heart Catholic High School, Waterloo, in 1947.
She married Robert James Burke in Charles City, Iowa on Dec. 12, 1952. She was a homemaker and raised eight children in Sioux City.
Mrs. Burke was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church as well as St. Michael’s Leeds.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Hadfield (James) of Eden Prairie, Minn., Suzan Boden (Steven) of Sioux City, Kathryn Sanda (Mark) of Chaska, Minn., John Burke (Lisa) of Boulder, Colo., Joseph Burke (Meg) of West Salem, Wis., Gregory Burke of Carlsbad, Calif. and Jeffrey Burke (Deanna) of Naperville, Ill.; 18 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert; her son, David and her brother, Robert Buckley.
Pallbearers will be John, Joe, Greg, and Jeff Burke as well as Brad and Cassandra Boden.
