Jacob Andrew Nash, 37, of Sioux City passed away Monday, March 14, 2016.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Tim Bonney officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Jacob was born on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 1978, in Sioux City, as the second child and first son of Jeffery L. and Loretta M. (Gedwillo) Nash. Jacob attended Roosevelt Elementary, West Middle and West High Schools. He was baptized and confirmed at Grace United Methodist Church.
Jacob and Miranda Roberts were united in marriage on Aug. 8, 2008, in Sioux City, and made their home in Morningside. They welcomed Miranda's nephew, with whom he was very close, into their home in 2011. A daughter was born in 2015. Jacob was a welder and worked in various shops in the area.
He greatly enjoyed fishing, hunting, morel mushroom season, music and cooking.
Survivors include his wife, Miranda Nash; daughter, Evelyn Clare; nephew, Tristan Roberts; parents, Jeffery and Loretta Nash; sister, Amanda (Matt) Secoske; brother, Michael Nash; sister, Sarah (Mitchell) Henriksen; grandmother, Dorothy Joan Gedwillo; nieces and nephews, Emma, Jack, William, Ada and Elizabeth; mother-in-law, Twila Roberts; father-in-law, Bill Roberts; and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alvin and Evelyn Nash; a grandfather, Stanley Gedwillo; and infant son, Samuel.
Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.
