SIOUX CITY -- Jackie Hull, 71, of Sioux City passed away Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009, at her residence after an extended illness.
Abiding by her wishes, the body was cremated. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at St. Mark Lutheran Church, with the Rev. John Hagberg officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Jackie Hull was born Jan. 24, 1938, in Sioux City, to Jack and Twila Ohl. She attended schools in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1955.
She married Gordon Hull on Aug. 1, 1958, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. She was a charter member of St. Mark Lutheran Church. She was proud to be a housewife and mother to three sons.
She enjoyed spending time with family and close friends. She especially enjoyed attending the numerous activities of her grandchildren. She was an avid fan at several North High School sporting events. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed the company of many family pets.
She is survived by her husband, Gordon Hull of Sioux City; her mother, Twila Ohl of Sioux City; brothers, Steve (Soni) and Rick (Wendy) Ohl of Sioux City; three sons and their wives, Randy and Martha Hull of Wausau, Wis., Brian and Michele Hull of Omaha and Rusty and Amy Hull of Dubuque, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack Ohl.
Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Kristen Wallis (Greg), Sarah Hull, Tyler Hull, Ryan Hull, Kacie Hull, Mason Hull, Preston Hull and great-grandson, Aiden Wallis.
She had strong love and compassion for all animals and her family will be setting up a fund to donate to the Siouxland Humane Society in her memory.
She was a very loving and giving person and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
