Moville, Iowa - James R. "Bob" West, 60, of Moville, and Surprise, Ariz., died Thursday, May 29, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
James "Bob" West was born on Feb. 10, 1954, in Boone, Iowa, the son of James and Genevieve (McCoy) West. He grew up and attended school in Ames, Iowa.
Bob married Joyce Schlie Bielenberg on Sept. 24, 1983. They made their home in the Schleswig and Denison, Iowa, area before moving to Surprise, Ariz. 28 years ago. The last three years, they spent their summers in Moville. Bob was a jack-of-all-trades but, particularly enjoyed being the director of buildings and grounds at Aces School in Glendale, Ariz., which he did until the time of his passing.
Bob could fix anything. He loved golfing and teaching golf to both young and old. He also enjoyed woodworking and painting. He was a member of Crosswinds Presbyterian Church in Phoenix, Ariz., where he had been a past deacon.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Moville and Surprise; son, Ken Bielenberg of Gold Canyon, Ariz.; twin daughters, Lori (Craig) Baldwin of Moville, and Lisa Dalton of Glendale, Ariz.; son, Steven (Choya) Bielenberg of Castana, Iowa; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two brothers; and three sisters.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother.
