James Nathan Campbell, 67, of Sioux City died Friday, May 9, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

James was born Sept. 13, 1940, in Sioux City, the son of William and Sara Jane (Pearline) Campbell. He lived in Washington as a child, returning to Sioux City when he was a teenager.
He married Cheryl Cummins in July 1962. They were married for 14 years and later separated. He was a truck driver, working for Heyl Transport, Irving F. Jensen Construction and later with L.G. Everist in Sioux City.
He loved trains and was able to be a train engineer towards the end of his life. He enjoyed fishing, working on cars, splitting and stacking wood and collecting all sorts of things.
Survivors include four children, Jamie and Steve VanderSchaaf of Hawarden, Iowa, James and Margie Campbell Jr. of Alcester, S.D., Richard Campbell of Sioux City and Sara and Mike Snedeker of Hawarden; six grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a brother, Benny and Linda Campbell of Kansas; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a daughter, Debra Campbell.
