James Allen Frady, 75, of Sioux City, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2017, at a local hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Christian Church in Sioux City. A visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m. today,with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6:30 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
James was born on Oct. 22, 1941, in San Diego, Calif., the son of Lloyd and Marie (Allen) Frady. He attended and graduated from Plattsmouth (Neb.) School, with the class of 1960. He was united in marriage with Emily Belle Campbell on Jan. 5, 1966 in Glenwood, Iowa. He honorably served his country as a member of the U.S. Army serving from 1964 to 1969.
Jim worked at Allied Chemical in Omaha for seven months, before moving to Sioux City, where he worked at Terra International for 15 years. He then became employed at the Diocese of Sioux City, where he served until his retirement in 2008.
Jim was a long time member of First Christian Church, where he also served as custodian for many years. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and taking care of his dogs.
Survivors include his wife, Emily; his daughters, Diana Moore (Juliet) of Minneapolis, Minn., and Kimberly Chilton (Adam) of Sioux City; his daughter-in-heart, Hoi Le (Reez) Kinchella) of Sioux City; his six grandchildren; his sister, Marie Alice Braz of Palm Coast Fla.; sister-in-law, Donella Parker (Lloyd); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother-in-law, Skip Friend; one niece; and one nephew.
