LAWTON, Iowa -- James "Har" Robinson, 75, of Lawton passed away Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2009, at his residence.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton, with Pastor Bruce Jackson officiating. Burial of cremains will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
James Harland "Har" Robinson was born Jan. 10, 1934, in Plymouth County to Glen and Helen (Ideker) Robinson. He married Janice Seggerman in Marcus, Iowa, in 1961, and to this union, two sons were born, Phil and Dan. Jan passed away in 1983.
Har worked for the Woodbury County Department of Roads as a bridge foreman for 34 years, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends.
Har is survived by his mother, Helen of Lawton; two sons, Phil of Bronson, Iowa, and Daniel and his wife, Sheri of Round Rock, Texas; four grandchildren, Hallie and Sophia Robinson of Bronson, and Kylie and Austin Robinson of Round Rock; special friend, Sherry Kellogg of Dakota City; two sisters, Pat Perkins of Lawton, and Mary and her husband, Andy Andrews of Durango, Colo.; four nephews, James and his wife, Linda Perkins of Omaha, Neb., Dave and his wife, Patti Varner of Omaha, Bob and his wife, Yvonne Varner of Tucson, Ariz., and Mark Varner of Tucson; and a niece, Debra Woodbrey of Durango.
He was preceded in death by his father; his wife; and a brother-in-law, Russell Perkins.
