James W. Higginbotham

James W. Higginbotham, 51, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2024, at his residence in Sioux City, IA.

A visitation will be 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Ave, with burial in Kingsley Cemetery.

James Wellington Higginbotham, the son of Harold W. and Connie (Allen) Higginbotham was born September 11, 1972, in Sioux City, IA. He attended high school at Kingsley-Pierson.

James worked with his father laying asphalt. He then went on to be a night manager at Truck Haven Truck Stop (now a Pilot station). James was most recently employed at Appliance and Furniture RentAll in Sioux City.

James collected many things. Toys, Slot Cars, Motorcycles, and Dune Buggies were among his favorites. He also loved going to auctions and camping.

James is survived by his parents, Harold and Connie of Moville; a brother, Justin (Angela Conway) Higginbotham of Fountain, CO; his fiancé: Dana Martin of Sioux City; three nephews, Ian Michael Higginbotham, Brody Allan Higginbotham, and Tristen Diamond; a step-niece, Serena Jones of Chicago, IL; aunts, Bobbi Rosenbaum and Jan DeWolf, both of Sioux City; great-uncles, Roger and Norman Allen, both of Sioux City; his dog, Loki; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jody Lee and Jeremy William Higginbotham; and all of his grandparents.
