SIOUX CITY - James R. Ward, 77, of St. Paul, Minn., formerly of Sioux City, passed away May 14, 2012.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City, with the Rev. Gary Snyder of St. Michael Catholic Church officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jim was born on July 27, 1934, in Sioux City, to Frank and Margaret (McCann) Ward. He grew up and attended school in Sioux City. He graduated from Heelan High School in 1952. He served in the U.S. Army. Jim was employed with Hydraulic Sales in Sioux City. He later worked at Specialized Hauling, retiring in 2000.
He was of the Catholic faith. He enjoyed fishing, socializing, driving and building stock cars, and watching the races. He was a great machinist.
Survivors include a sister, Dorothy and Jim Baker of Sioux City; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and six sisters.
