Jane L. Sanders, 86, of Lincoln, Neb., formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Holmes Lake Manor in Lincoln.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Craig Bock officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Jane was born in Wichita, Kan., on July 18, 1921, the daughter of Raymond C. and Hulda (Ratham) Cook. She came to Sioux City with her parents. She graduated from East High School in 1939.
She married Robert W. Kempton in 1940 in Sioux City. She then married Kenneth Sanders. He died in 1973. She lived in Sioux City until her retirement in 1985. She then moved to Greeley, Colo., then to Lincoln in 1990. She was employed as a office manager for Modern Machine Co. for 20 years. She then went to work for Hutchinson Law Office as a secretary until her retirement in 1985.
She was a former member and past president of Quota International of Sioux City. She also was the district governor of District Seven of Quota International in 1983. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church. She enjoyed flower gardening, embroidering and trained dogs in obedience.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Steven and Joyce Kempton of Waverly, Neb.; two daughters, Donna and her husband, Charles Kreymborg of Danbury, Iowa, and Nancy Wilkinson of Oakdale, Neb.; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; a sister, Jeanne Hill; a grandson, Kevin Kreymborg; and two great-grandsons, Joseph Milner and Anthony Schumann.
