Janet E. Johnson-Ferris

Janet E. Johnson-Ferris, 70, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016, at her residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Janet was born on March 8, 1945, in Sioux City, to Jonathon P. and Phyllis (Spaulding) Johnson. Janet married Bill Ferris on July 24, 1998. He preceded her in death. She was very proud of her many service awards acquired during her 27 years of service at Mercy Medical Center.
Janet enjoyed taking frequent cruises with her sister and mother, bingo at the Senior Center, and was an avid fan of Alan Jackson.
Survivors include her son, Don Johnson and Wendy Sanders of Waukee, Iowa; daughter, Roxanne and Don Poe of DeSoto, Iowa; grandchildren, Ashley Johnson, Andrea Poe, Amanda Gay, Jordon Johnson, and Kaley Johnson; great-grandchildren, Veronica and Vanessa Gay; sister, Velma Harbeck; brothers, Richard Johnson and Michael Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband.
