Janice Lee Derby, 71, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2014, at her residence.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Friday in Calvary Cemetery, Sioux City. The Rev. Steven McLoud will officiate. Visitation with the family will be 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 2320 Outer Drive, in Sioux City. Janice was born June 29, 1943, in Sioux City, the daughter of Roy and Helen (Barnes) Molden. She was raised in Sioux City and attended Sioux City Catholic Schools.
On Dec. 22, 1962, she married Raymond L. Derby in Los Angeles, Calif. After the service the couple returned to Sioux City. Janice worked at D.H.S. in Sioux City and Spirit Lake, Iowa, for more than 20 years. Raymond died on Aug. 9, 1999, in Spirit Lake.
Janice loved quilting, sewing, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her daughters, Stacey Wessling of Sioux City, and Tabitha (Matthew) Little of Sumter, S.C.; three grandchildren, Garvin, McKenzie and Mckayla; and one great-grandchild, Emilia Bernadette.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and seven brothers and sisters.
