Janice A. McMullen, 90, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at Pioneer Valley Nursing and Rehab Center in Sergeant Bluff.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
Janice was born on Dec. 6, 1927, in Cherokee, Iowa, to Harold and Ethel (Bremer) Quintard. She graduated from Lawton (Iowa) High School in 1945.
In 1946, Janice married William Thompson. They later divorced. On June 9, 1956, Janice married Earl McMullen and they remained together until his passing in 1986. She always enjoyed her weekly afternoon trips to Dairy Queen with her husband for a fun facts session. Janice had been a resident of Sioux City for more than 50 years. Prior to Sioux City, she lived in Lawton and California.
Janice is survived by her sons, Mike (Gail) Thompson of Tustin, Calif., and Robert Thompson of Grand Island, Fla.; daughters, LeAnn (Loren) Kuester of Sergeant Bluff, and Laurie (Manuel) Sanchez of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earl McMullen; a sister; and two brothers.
