SIOUX CITY -- Jason Michael Gray, 33, of Sloan, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Friday, Nov. 27, 2009, at his residence after a long struggle with cancer.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Community Church of Christ in Sloan, with the Rev. Emery Killian officiating. Burial of the ashes will be in Sloan Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Jason was born Sept. 23, 1976, in Sioux City, the son of Steve and Theresa (Lefler) Gray. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Heelan High School in 1995.
He married Nicki Clayton on July 26, 1998, in Sioux City. He moved to Sloan four years ago. He was employed as a construction worker for Local 57.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, painting cars and loved riding Harley's. What he enjoyed most was spending time with his wife, children and family.
He is survived by his wife, Nicki of Sloan; a son, James of Moville, Iowa; a son and two daughters, Kody, Kimberly and Kayla, all at home; his parents, Steve and Theresa Gray of Sloan; a brother and his wife, Jeremiah and Gwyneth of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; his mother-in-law, Karlyn Jarratt of Alexander, Arkansas; his father-in-law, Greg Clayton of Salix, Iowa; his sisters-in-law, Julie and Darla Isom of Sergeant Bluff; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lucille and Walt Lefler and Patricia and Charles Gray.
