SIOUX CITY -- Jayne M. Purcell, 49, of Sioux City died Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009, from injuries suffered in a car accident.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Lee officiating. Visitation with the family will be noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Jayne was born Oct. 16, 1960, in Mankato, Minn., the daughter of Robert and Ida (Le Mire) Haefner. She was raised in Mankato and graduated from Mankato High School. She came to Sioux City around 1986.
She married Donald E. Purcell Jr. on Sept. 10, 1994, in Sioux City. She worked at the Sioux City Journal for six years. She attended nursing school at Western Iowa Tech Community College, graduating in 2005. She was currently working as an LPN at Countryside Nursing Home.
She enjoyed going to the races, was an avid football fan and loved the Vikings. She enjoyed canoeing and boating, but what she loved most was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Donald of Sioux City; two daughters, Cheri (Jordan) Dowson of Sioux City and Lisa Raddatz and her partner, Manuel Segovia of Sioux City; her son, Donald Robert Purcell at home; her parents, Robert and Ida Haefner of Mankato, Minn.; two grandchildren, Kyle Walding and Trinity Segovia; her mother-in-law, Barb and Kevin Kluver of Springfield, Neb.; her sisters-in-law, Monica Fouts and Angela Powles; and her niece, Alisha Ridges.
