Jean C. McGuill, 76, of Sioux City died Saturday, March 8, 2008, at her residence.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Nativity Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gerald Feierfiel officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:30 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary by the Confraternity of Christian Mothers at 4:30 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel.
Jean was born Sept. 7, 1931, in Sioux City, the daughter of James J. and Helen C. (Dalton) Enright. She was a lifelong resident of Sioux City. She attended Cathedral Grand School and high. She graduated with the first graduating class from Heelan High School in 1950.
She married Joseph McGuill Jr. on Dec. 26, 1952, in Sioux City. She worked for the Northwestern Bell Telephone Co. as an operator for several years. She also worked in sales at Linda Lee's.
She was a member of Church of the Nativity and Confraternity of Christian Mothers at the church. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She enjoyed shopping, gardening and baking. What she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Jr.; a daughter and her husband, Julie and Brad LeFebvere of Colorado; a son, Joseph McGuill III of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Ryan and Collin; and two sisters, Charlotte Enright of Des Moines and Colleen Telaneus of Phoenix, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, James, Don and Jerry; and two sisters, Mary Davis and Kathleen Enright.
Pallbearers will be Pat Enright, Chris Wilmes, Gary Heath, Mickey Davis, Steven Davis and Tommy Davis.
A memorial has been established in her name for the Carmelite Monastery.
