SIOUX CITY -- Jean E. Samuelson, 89, of Sioux City died Monday, April 2, 2012, following a brief illness and a short stay at a local nursing home.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Memorial Park Cemetery, with the Rev. Jeff Ream officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Jean E. Samuelson was born on Dec. 1, 1922, in Sioux City, the daughter of George and Susanna (Hawkins) McMullen. She graduated from Central High School in 1941.
Jean married Robert "Bob" Samuelson on June 26, 1946, in Sioux City. She was a homemaker and they raised three children, Lynn, Bob and Bruce.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Bruce and Jana Samuelson, and a stepgrandson, Cameron Trudeau of Wynstone, S.D.; a daughter and her husband, Lynn and Joe Matson of Clive, Iowa; two granddaughters and their husbands, Lisa and Michael Hansen of Las Vegas, Nev., and Nicole and David Struchen of Jewell, Iowa; and a great-granddaughter, Gabbi Struchen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; a son, Robert; her parents; four brothers; and a sister.
