Jeanette Maskevich (Adamowicz)

Jeanette Maskevich, 94, formerly of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2008, in Pueblo West, Colo.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Christy-Smith Larkin Northside Chapel in Sioux City, with the Rev. Richard Sitzman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Condolences may be sent online to www.christysmith.com .

Jeanette was born May 28, 1913, in Sioux City, to Anthony and Helen Adamowicz. She graduated from East High School in 1931.

She married Charles Maskevich on Oct. 14, 1932. She worked as a secretary for the Sioux Trail Girl Scouts for 12 years and at Junior Achievement for seven years.

She was a member of St. Casimir Rosary Society. She served as membership chairman for the St. Casimir/St. Francis Alumni Association. She enjoyed reading, playing the organ and scrapbooking. At the age of 90, she wrote and published her memoirs.

Survivors include her children, Charles (Patricia) of Savannah, Ga., Jerry (Millie) of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Frank (Doris) of Fall Creek, Wis., Steve (Debra) of Arlington, Texas, Marcia (Richard) Muller of Pueblo West, Colo., and Jeff (Carrie) of Ames, Iowa; 24 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles; two brothers, Stephen and Joseph Adamowicz; and a grandson, David Maskevich.

Jeanette's legacy is one of faith and love.
