SIOUX CITY -- Jeanne Marie Thomas, 80, of Sioux City died Thursday, April 9, 2009, at Sunrise Retirement Community.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Daniel C. Guenther officiating.
Jeanne was born Dec. 10, 1928, in Pocahontas, Iowa, the daughter of Roy James and Elsie Sophia (Wiegert) Reiter. She attended school and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in Pocahontas.
She married Roger Thomas in 1949. They made their home in Pocahontas for a short time before moving to Sioux City in 1955. She was an Avon representative for 33 years.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, the Hummel Club and American Business Women. She enjoyed fishing, working with her flowers in the garden and card clubs.
Survivors include her husband, Roger Thomas of Sioux City; two sons, Bruce Thomas and his special friend, Chrissy of Sioux City and Brian and Jeanette Thomas of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a daughter, Barbara Thomas of Galesburg, Ill.; and two grandsons, Chad and Amanda Thomas of Waterloo, Iowa, and Grant and Rebecca Thomas of Golden, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother; and four sisters.
