Sioux City - Jeannette Mae Karolick, 82, of Sioux City passed away Feb. 21, 2014 at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Jeannette was born Dec. 20, 1931, in Sioux City, to Melvin John and Frances Marie (Hansen) Anderson. She lived in Sioux City all of her life and attended East High School.
She married Alex Karolick on July 26, 1952, in Sioux City. She worked as a dental assistant and in retail sales for Red Owl and National Food Grocery Stores. She also was employed at Patterson Dental Supply and Iowa Veterinary Supply.
Jeannette enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling, shopping and walking. She was extremely proud of her grandsons. Jeannette was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church and their quilting guild.
Survivors include her husband, Alex of Sioux City; daughter, Brenda Kay and Randall Epperson of Lincoln, Neb.; grandsons, Alex and Andrew Epperson of Lincoln; brother Donald and Wanda Anderson of Amarillo, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Danette; sisters, Florence Anderson, Doris Sherrick, June Olson, Maybelle Hawkins and Christine Kobes; and brother, Robert Lee Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to St. Mark’s Lutheran or donor’s choice.
