WATERBURY, NEB. -- Jeannine C. Todd, 82, of Waterbury passed away Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at Wakefield Care Center in Wakefield, Neb., following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson, Neb., with the Rev. Paul M. Albenesius officiating. Burial will be in South Creek Cemetery at Ponca, Neb. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Jeannine C. Kayl was born Nov. 28, 1928, in Sioux City, the daughter of John and Vera M. (Hewett) Kayl. She was raised in the Waterbury, Neb. area and graduated from Waterbury High School in 1946. She married Melvin Mathiesen on Feb. 28, 1948. She then married Henry W. Todd on Dec. 27, 1972, in Dakota City. Jeannine was employed as an assembly line operator for Zenith Corporation. She then worked in the cleaning department at the Ponca State Park. She was a care giver to other people as well as a homemaker and housewife for her husband and family.
She was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Jackson, Neb. Jeannine enjoyed working in her flower garden.
Survivors include her husband, Henry W. Todd of Waterbury; one son, Steve Mathiesen and his wife, Michelle of Omaha, Neb.; three daughters, Donna Schroeder and her husband, Jerry of Allen, Neb., Barbara Baumgart and her husband, Jerry of Lawrenceville, Ga., and April Rahn and her husband, Steve of Jackson, Neb.; a brother, John Kayl and his wife, Patricia of Waterbury; a sister, Mary Lou Iverson and her husband, Jack of Chicago, Ill.; five stepchildren, Melody Aadland and her husband, Rick of Dakota Dunes, S.D., Patricia Ingram and her husband, Bob of Charles City, Iowa, Randy Todd and his wife, La Vern of Lacey, Wash., Daniel Todd and his wife, Cindy of Riverside, Ohio, and Jeffrey Todd and his wife, Rita of South Sioux City; 26 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Melvin, who died on May 21, 2001, in Lincoln, Neb.; a son, James "Jim" Mathiesen; a granddaughter, Michelle Mathiesen; and two sisters, Audrey Starner and Kay Fuller.
Pallbearers will be Trevis Schroeder, Mark Sullivan, Bryan Wroblewski, Joshua Rahn, Michael Mathiesen and Todd Aadland.
