Jeffrey J. "Jeff" Weldon, 56, of Sioux City, died Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Community of Christ Church in Pisgah, Iowa. Burial will be in Preparation Canyon Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes.
Jeffrey Jon "Jeff" Weldon, was born to Terry and Shirley (Mann) Weldon, on Oct. 13, 1961, in Mount Ayr, Iowa. He joined his sisters, Vicki and Cyndy, and welcomed another sister, Patti in 1964. Jeff graduated from high school in Lamoni, Iowa, and then attended the Art Academy in Omaha, and later Park College in the Kansas City, Mo.
Jeff loved nature, sports, music, and art. Painting became his refuge as his health deteriorated. He had such a gentle and kind disposition which he maintained through great adversity in his life. For the last six months, he resided at Maple Heights Nursing Home in Mapleton, Iowa, where the staff loved and cared for him. The residents loved watching him paint, which he did every day. He was greatly loved by his family and many people he met though out his life.
Survivors include his parents, Terry and Shirley Weldon of Sioux City; his sisters, Vicki Weldon of Sioux Falls, S.D., Cyndy Johnson (Mark Prunty) of Smithland, Iowa, and Patti Morrow of Mapleton; a half sister, Kathy (Joel) Adams of Independence, Mo.; nieces and nephews, Rachael Mueller of Sioux Falls, Brandon Johnson of Smithland, Brittney (Kyle Waggoner) Gernhart of Moville, Iowa, Maggie (Josh) Butler of Moville, Cooper Morrow of Texas, Chase Morrow of Mapleton, Niki Morrow of Texas, Kyran Morrow of Mapleton, Jason (Katie) White, Karolee White, and Sean White of Kansas City, Mo.; grandnieces and nephews, Delaney, Keaton, Will, Zachary, Maxton, Benji, Rylan, Silas, Cole, Cody, and Logan; and many uncles, aunts and cousins.
Memorials given will be distributed by Jeff's family in his honor.
