SIOUX CITY -- Jeffrey Scott Utterback, 45, of Sioux City died Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010, in Le Mars, Iowa.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jeff Mose officiating. Burial will be in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Jeff was born on Sept. 8, 1965, in Homestead, Pa., the son of William F and Nancy (Scott) Utterback. He was raised in South Sioux City, and attended South Sioux City High School.
On April 9, 1994, he married Cheryl Babbe in Elk Point, S.D. Jeff managed several food service businesses in Sioux City including 7-11, Kum & Go and Burger King.
Jeff was a great fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and he enjoyed boating, fishing and playing baseball. He was a very caring, loving and thoughtful man. He never thought of himself first but of what he could do for others. The most important part of his life was spending time with his son and daughters and the rest of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl of Sioux City; his daughters, Emily and Josie, both at home; his son, Drew of Sioux City; his mother and stepfather, Nancy and Marty Wermes of South Sioux City; three brothers, Jim of South Sioux, John and Carla of Sioux City, and Jason and Judee of Baltimore, Md.; four sisters-in-law, Carla Welch and Kevin Apes of Webster City, Iowa, Cathy and Jeff Anderson of South Sioux City, Carrie Babbe of Waukee, Iowa, and Chana and John Lee of Onawa, Iowa; and nieces and nephews, Katelyn, Nick, Madison, Sean, Logan, Aaron, Carrie, Richard, Jacob and Jillian.
He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Sam and Mary Scott; grandfather, Earl Utterback; and uncle, Jeep Scott.
