MILFORD, Neb. -- Jennifer A. "Janae" Pekarek, 20, of Milford died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, near Milford.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City, with the Rev. Merrill G. Muller, Methodist minister, officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
Jennifer was born Dec. 4, 1989, in Friend, Neb., the daughter of Rodney and Wendy (Tibbetts) Kuhl. She was raised in the Seward Neb., area and attended Centennial and Seward Public School.
She married Shad Pekarek on Jan. 16, 2009, in Beaver Crossing, Neb. She began her working career in the laundry at Sunrise Country Manor. She later earned her CNA designation and continued her employment with Crestview Care Center.
She loved music and enjoyed many hours of walking with family and friends, surrounding herself with nature and her dog. Even though she did not graduate from high school, she was a gifted honor student. She had a good outlook about life and enjoyed teasing and having fun with her friends.
Survivors include her husband, Shad Pekarek of Utica, Neb.; her mother, Wendy Tibbetts of Milford; two sisters, Nicole and Abbey Kuhl of Milford; her father, Rodney Kuhl of York, Neb.; aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her aunts, Joan Tibbetts, Kathy Tibbetts and Lois De Witt; and her grandparents, Elmer and Connie Kuhl and Horace and Gladys Tibbetts.
