SIOUX CITY -- Jerry G. Barnes, 68, of Sioux City died Dec. 16, 2010, at the Embassy Care Center in Sergeant Bluff.
Memorial services will be 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Jerry was born May 13, 1942, to Lowell and Parlee (Williams) Barnes. He had five sisters and four brothers. He worked at Mid-Step Service for many years.
Jerry's home was Parkview Homes, where he had many friends. He also had many friends in and around the Sioux City area. He loved music and had a great time when he could sing in front of people. He also like to show off his Special Olympics medals.
Survivors include his brothers and sisters, Nettie Hoffman of Omaha, Ameila of Tekamah, Neb., Norean Waitz of Brooten, Minn., and Benny and Milton, both of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sisters, Evelyn Hafley, Thelta Michner, Jack Barnes, and Leo Barnes.
The family would like to thank Parkview Homes employees and staff for taking such good care of Jerry for all these years.
