Jerry A. Worrell, 64, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, Feb. 18, 2016, while working in Garden City, Kan.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Karen Hanke officiating. Burial will be in Smithland (Iowa) Cemetery. Visitation will 12:30 p.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jerry was born Aug. 25, 1951, in Smithland, to Arthur and Mollie (Day) Worrell. Jerry graduated from Mapleton (Iowa) High School.
He married Elizabeth Henry on Dec. 4, 1982, in Holly Springs, Iowa.
He was working for Global Engineering at the time of his passing.
He enjoyed fishing and boating, Bluegrass music, and spending time with his grandchildren. Jerry was well-loved and enjoyed visiting and telling jokes with everyone he met.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Worrell; daughter, Rachael Henry; grandchildren, Ceara, Emity, Xander and Audeci; sisters, Sheryl Ratliff, Terry Daughtry and Melinda Namanny; brother, Kerry "Babe" Worrell; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, J.J. Worrell; brother, Danny Worrell; grandson, Gage; and nephews, Sam Sulsberger and Josh Worrell.
