Jesse G. Espinoza, 87, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at Casa de Paz Health Care Center in Sioux City.
Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Jesse G. Espinoza, the son of Estebon and Antonia (Ayala) Espinoza, was born on July 6, 1929, in Galveston, Texas. He received his education at Nuevo Laredo in Tamualipas, Mexico. Jesse served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and was honorably discharged in 1953.
On Oct. 3, 1977, Jesse was united in marriage with Theresa Walther at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City. Jesse was employed with Guarantee Roofing for 46 years, retiring in 1995. Theresa died on Oct. 30, 1999.
Jesse enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
Jesse is survived by four children, Diane Espinoza, Jose Manuel Espinoza, Myra Espinoza, and Gilbert Espinoza, all of Arizona; three stepsons, Charles (Jo) Andersen, Ronnie (Patty) Andersen, and Keith Andersen, all of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Dave Espinoza, Antonio Espinoza, Jose Espinoza, and Estebon Jr., all of Texas; one sister, Benilde Espinoza of Texas; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Teresa; and four siblings, Ralph, Loretta, Rosalia, and Salvadore Espinoza.
