Jetta Rae Utter (Brown)

Jetta Rae Utter, 80, of Sioux City died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at a local hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Steven Swanholm officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Jetta was born June 1, 1927, on the family farm near Pender, Neb. The family moved to Sioux City when she was young. She attended Sioux City Public Schools and graduated from East High School in 1943. She was employed with Swift & Company for a few years after high school.
She married William E. Utter on April 24, 1948, in Sioux City. The couple had two children, Dennis and Sharon.
Jetta was an active member of Glendale Baptist Church and the Siouxland Senior Center.
Survivors include her husband, William of Sioux City; a son, Dennis Utter of Fonda, Iowa; a daughter, Sharon McKay Norton of Lyons, Ill.; a brother, Russell and his wife, Katie Brown of Sioux City; five grandchildren, Carrie Ann Utter of Hastings, Neb., Danny Utter of Grand Island, Neb., Denise Utter of Hastings, Justin McKay and friend, Nicole of Lyons, Ill. and Ginger McKay of Lyons; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Leonard Brown and Lloyd Brown; and a sister, Opal McKenna.
