Jill (Patrick) Greig

Jill Annette (Patrick) Greig, 48, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Sioux City, passed away Feb. 26, 2015, at home.
A brief prayer service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, 1801 Morningside Avenue, in Sioux City. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery for family.
Jill was born on Oct. 3, 1966, in Sioux City. She graduated East High School in Sioux City in 1984. She studied pre-vet at Iowa State University before graduating with an associate's degree in nursing from Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City in 1989. Jill achieved her RN license and began a career in nursing at Marian Health Center in Sioux City.
She married Jeff Greig on Sept. 23, 1989, in Sioux City and moved to Overland Park after spending four years with Jeff in the Washington, D.C. area. After some time in private practice, she started a 21-year career at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Her first daughter, Justine, was born on Nov. 18, 1996. Her second daughter, Jessica, was born on June 4, 1999. Jill continued her education and received a BSN degree in Nursing from UMKC in 1999. Her career eventually led to management positions in Infection Control at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. She was a member of the Association for Professionals in Infection Control (APIC). Jill held Certification in Infection Control (CIC) from the Certification Board of Infection Control.
She loved her girls, her family, her faith, long road trips by car, animals, cooking and music.
She is survived by her husband, Jeff; daughters, Justine (18), and Jessica (15); mother, Judy (Ralph) Petrik of Overland Park; father, Doug (Shirley) Patrick of Sioux City; brothers, Craig (Michele) Patrick of Hudson, Wis., Scott (Vivian) Patrick of Sioux City, and Ross Patrick of Des Moines; in-laws, Curt and Sandy Greig of Jacksonville, Ill.; brother-in-law, Brian Greig of Australia; aunts, Joanne "Auntie Doe" (Edward) Rowe, Maxine Grubel, Alice Petrik, Joyce Magel, Kathy Coyle and Shirley Patrick; uncle, Edward (Wilma) Petrik; and numerous other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jill was preceded in death by her grandparents, Chloris and George Grubel, and Lucille Magel; her uncles, William "Bill" Magel, David Patrick, Henry Grubel, and Virgil Petrik; and her brother-in-law, Bruce Greig.
Jill will be lovingly remembered for her kind and caring heart and for putting others before herself.
