Joan C. Jenkins, 69, of Sioux City, died Monday, Sept. 4, 2017, at Touchstone Living Center in Sioux City.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Graveside services will be4 p.m. Friday in Greenwood Cemetery, Pierson, Iowa. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.
Joan Catherine Biondahl, the daughter of Manly and Margaret (Jenkins) Biondahl, was born on May 13, 1948, in Eagle Grove, Iowa. She graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1966, and went on to earn a bachelor of arts in education from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, in 1970.
On Jan. 17, 1970, Joan was united in marriage with Richard Peschau in Thor, Iowa. She was primarily a homemaker, but later in life she worked as a realtor for Century 21 and a substitute teacher for the Sioux City Community School District.
Joan was a former member of Morningside Lutheran Church and belonged to a bible study group. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Joan is survived by her sons, Mark (Candace Briggs) Peschau of Georgia, and Jon (Robin) Peschau of Pierson; six grandchildren; and three siblings, Joe (Shari) Biondahl of Thor, Pauline (Tom) Tomlinson of Port Byron, Ill., and Sharon (Tony) Coltvet of Eagle Grove.
