Joan E. McNaughton, 82, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating.
Joan was born on March 15, 1932, in Cushing, Iowa, the daughter of Floyd and Clarinda (Groth) Camarigg. As a young girl, she moved with her family to Sioux City where she attended East High School.
Joan married Eugene "Gene" McNaughton on July 3, 1948, in Elk Point, S.D. They made their home in Sioux City, where Joan stayed home and raised their children. Later in life, she worked at Harold's Photo Booth on Morningside Avenue, at the Sioux City Journal in the circulation department, and retired from Midwest Novelty and Gifts.
Joan's life revolved around her family and Sunday dinners were a ritual. She was a member of the Lost Chords Club of Siouxland. Joan enjoyed watching sports of all kinds. Football, golf and baseball were her favorites, especially watching her Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed going to the casino with her family.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Eugene McNaughton of Sioux City; four daughters, Susan (Kevin) Rentel, Debra McNaughton, Lori McNaughton and Tina McNaughton, all of Sioux City; a son, Gene "Buddy" (Brenda) McNaughton of Orange County, Calif.; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Steve (Linda) Camarigg of Sioux City; sister-in-law, Rose McNaughton of Littleton, Colo.; brother-in-law, Robert Cline of Sioux City; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Cindy Munger; three brothers; and three sisters.
