John Arthur Daniel Detches, 51, of Sioux City, died Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
John was born in Sioux City on Sept. 9, 1966, the son of Arthur "Dan" and Sandra (Breaman) Detches. He attended St. Joseph through grade and middle school, and then attended North High School in Sioux City, graduating in 1985.
He was united in marriage with Tracy Renee Thomason on Sept. 12, 1992, in Sioux City at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He worked at IVESCO for five years. He then became employed at AGP in Sergeant Bluff, where he was still employed at the time of his death. He was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, fishing, and playing cribbage.
His life will be remembered by his wife Tracy; his son, Brandon, age 23, and his daughter, Nicole, age 19. He is also survived by his siblings along with their spouses, Dorrie and Connie Barker, Jeanne and Tim Heilman , Barb and Al Hickson, Sandy and Phong Tran, Paula and Jack Kassing, Daniel "Butch" and Jenny Detches, Aaron and Deb Detches, Robert Detches and his partner, Duane Hengel, and Quentin and Shelly Detches; along with many other friends and relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
