John A. Hansen, 92, formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday, October 11, 2020, at Pioneer Valley Living and Rehab in Sergeant Bluff, IA.
A memorial service will be 10:30 am Monday, October 19, 2020, at Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Morningside Chapel, 1801 Morningside Avenue, with visitation one hour prior.
John Albert Hansen, the son of Alfred and Ernie (Woodruge) Hansen was born September 25, 1928, in Sioux City, IA. He was employed at Ralston-Purina Feed Mill for many years. John later worked on the night clean-up crew at Little Armour’s Meats.
On September 26, 1964, John was united in marriage with Louise (Earley) Kennedy in South Sioux City, NE.
John is survived by two daughters, Dianne (Kennedy) Schlotman of Lawton, IA, Kathryn (Kennedy) Klein of Smithburg, MD; five grandchildren, Todd Schlotman, Troy Schlotman, Michael Klein, Matthew Klein, Michelle Ernst; nine great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Ray Hansen of North Sioux City, SD; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and ten siblings.
