Johnette J. Rusk, 53, of Sioux City died Friday, Aug. 24, 2007, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. Kevin Lee officiating. Burial will be in Bella Vista Cemetery, Plymouth County, Iowa. Visitation will be noon until service time today at the funeral home.
Johnette was born June 29, 1954, in Sioux City, the daughter of Henry and Roberta (Ramsey) Rusk. She grew up in Westfield, Iowa, and attended Westfield High School. After graduation, she did missionary work around the United States and Mexico. She then continued her education and graduated from Morningside College. She decided to stay at Morningside College and had been a custodian there for more than 20 years.
She loved spending time and playing with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed going rummaging and collecting knickknacks.
Survivors include two sons, David Trobaugh and his wife, Amanda of Sioux City and Jonathon Trobaugh of Sioux City; two grandsons, Logan Trobaugh and Jacob Trobaugh, both of Sioux City; a stepson, Robert Trobaugh and his fiancee, Megan of Le Mars, Iowa; six stepgrandchildren; three brothers and their wives, Terry and Carol Rusk of Arkansas, Rob and Gayleen Rusk of Sioux City and Tim and Mavis Rusk of Sioux City; a special nephew, Robb Rusk of Sioux City; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
