NORTH SIOUX CITY -- Jorge Ramon Morales, 35, of North Sioux City died Saturday, Oct. 15, 2011, from injuries received in a construction accident at Briar Cliff College.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Blessed Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church in Dakota Dunes. The Rev. Oscar Perez will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Visitation will be 6:30 to 9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Jorge was born July 15, 1976, in Atengo, Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Jorge Ramon and Susana (Nunez) Morales Sr. He was raised in Mexico and came to the United States in 1997. Jorge lived in California, Chicago and then came to Sioux City.
He married Rosa De La Torre on Aug. 25, 2003, and they had their marriage blessed at Blessed Teresa Catholic Church this past July. He worked for John Morrell Packing Plant and was currently working for W.A. Klinger Construction Co.
Jorge enjoyed soccer, gardening, and fishing, but the most important part of his life was spending time with his family, his wife and two daughters. Jorge loved helping people and was known for giving generously of himself in service to others.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa; his two daughters, Sofia and Veronica Morales; his mother, Susana Raygoza; two brothers, Javier and DiMarco Raygoza; three sisters, Esmeralda, Raquel and Elvia Ragoza, all of Chicago, Ill.; his mother-in-law, Elida Doty of Granville, Iowa; and an uncle, Julio Nunez of Atengo, Jalisco, Mexico.
He was preceded in death by his father.
