While working at Swift's Poultry, she met and later married, Norman "Slim" Sharp on April 10, 1952. They made their home in South Sioux City, then Sioux City before moving to St. Paul, Minn. for a short time then transferring to Worthington in 1964. Her hobbies included many crafts such as knitting, crocheting and plastic canvas where she even had Slim join in and help.
