Joyce was a Christian woman of love and a generous spirit. She loved her faith, family, home, and friends. She took great pleasure in decorating her home and sharing that home with others. Joyce was always up for a game of cards and was happiest when surrounded by family and friends.
She enjoyed a good joke and a good song; especially if sung by the Booth Brothers. Her home was usually filled with music and she also sang in the church choir for many years.
Joyce was born in Lake View, Iowa to Glen and Ordena Arp. The family moved to Sioux City where she met and married Ken Beals in 1954. They had two sons, Jim and Steve, who along with her grandchildren were the center of her life.
She is survived by her son Steve; brother David (Joanie); Becky Beals Swain (former daughter-in-law); grandchildren Sarah, Juliann, Dena, Emery, Gwen, and Adrian.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ken; her son, Pastor Jim Beals; and her brother, Glen Arp Jr.
Memorials will be accepted by Westminster Presbyterian Church and should be noted that it is for their "Neighborhood Food Cupboard".
