Joyce Aileen (Wilson) Seivert, 83, of Sioux City, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2021.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, November 1 at 11:00 AM at the Larkin Chapel of Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, (located at 2320 Outer Drive North, Sioux City, IA 51104) with Chaplain Neil Peck officiating.
Joyce will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Calvary Mausoleum inside Calvary Cemetery

Joyce was born in Jackson County, IA on August 25,1938 to Ira and Mildred (Penningroth) Wilson. She grew up on the family farm in eastern Iowa near Delmar. She graduated from Delmar High School in 1956. Joyce married Paul Seivert in Davenport, IA on July 20, 1957. The couple then moved to Sioux City to start their family and their chiropractic practice.
Joyce was a fabulous cook and loved nothing better than having her kids home and making their favorite dishes. In her younger days, Joyce was an avid bowler, competing in the state tournament for many years. Later, Joyce was able to enjoy a bit of traveling, collecting dolls and teddy bears along the way, and capturing her travel memories in scrapbooks. She could often be found on a Sunday afternoon watching NASCAR on TV.
Joyce loved boating on the Missouri River, served in the Coast Guard Auxiliary for many years, and was a member of Missouri River Boat Club and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Jeff (Charlene) Seivert, Jolynn (John) Wedekind, Jim (Penny) Seivert, Julie Seivert, and Jana (Randy) Berg; 9 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; brother, Richard; husband, Dr. Paul; granddaughter, Alicia; and great-grandson, Brennon.
