Judy K. Peters, 74, formerly of Sioux City, died Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Mountain Vista Medical Center in Mesa, Ariz.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, with the family present 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Judy K. Murphy, the daughter of Thomas and Lenora (McDermott) Murphy, was born on May 29, 1943, in Sioux City. She graduated from Central High School and went on to attend Wayne State College.
On June 5, 1965, Judy was united in marriage with Terry D. Peters in Sioux City. She worked for Gateway Computers in North Sioux City until her retirement in 2009.
Judy enjoyed time with her children and grandchildren. She loved bingo and the legion hall. Most of all, she loved spending time with her beloved husband, who could always make her laugh.
Judy is survived by her husband of 52 years, Terry of Mesa; son, Jeff (Kari) Peters of Fargo, N.D., and their children, Jacob and Connor; daughter-in-law, Jacy Peters of Sioux City, and her children, Corey Peters and Callie Trobaugh-Peters; brother, Pat Murphy of Wisner, Neb.; a sister, Bev Petekavich of Kingsley, Iowa; sisters-in-law, Diane Peters of Sioux City, Meredith (John) Hanlon of Coral Springs, Fla., Phyllis Smith of Fort Dodge, Iowa, and Cathy Meyer of Sioux City; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Scott Peters; sister-in-law, MaryAnn Murphy; niece, Kathy Murphy; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Peters.
