June R. Ellsworth, 94, of Sioux City, died Saturday, May 6, 2017, at her residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith, Funeral Home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 7 p.m., at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
June Rose Burke, the daughter of Charles A. and Lena Mae (Trudeau) Burke, was born on May 17, 1922, in Sioux City. She graduated from Central High School in Sioux City in 1939.
In September 1939, June was united in marriage with Donald L. Ellsworth. She worked as an operator for Northwestern Telephone and later as a front desk clerk at the Roadway Inn. Donald died on Aug. 27, 1981.
June was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
June is survived by three sons, Donald W. (Mary) Ellsworth of Fort Worth, Texas, Michael W. (Annie) Ellsworth of Sioux City, and Thomas J. Ellsworth of Dallas, Texas; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; one nephew; three nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald L.; a daughter, Mary J. Ellsworth Ofert; and two sons, James L. Ellsworth and Joseph A. Ellsworth.
