Sioux City - M. June Uber, 89, of Sioux City died Friday, April 25, 2014, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. The Rev. David Hemann will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
June was born on June 22, 1924, in Sioux City, the daughter of Chester and Jenny (Henshall) Olson. She was raised in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School in 1942.
On Oct. 14, 1950, June married John R. Uber in Sioux City. She worked at the Sioux City Stockyards for the Gehan Commission Firm for a few years. June's husband, John, died on June 9, 1993, in Sioux City.
She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church. June loved her family. She enjoyed cooking for them and spending time with them, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
June is survived by her five children, Cindy Uber of Omaha, Scott and Mary Uber of Plattsmouth, Neb., Jo Schipull of Pomeroy, Iowa, Brian and Deb Uber of Kearney, Neb., and Tim Uber of Windsor, Colo.; six grandchildren, Tracy (Jason) Weathers, Kate (Hasan) Kaval, Emily (Heath) Holtapp, Kim (Justin) Crosswhite, Kristy (Robert) Marx, and Joeli Schipull; and nine great-grandchildren.
