KaSandra A. Poeckes, 54, of Sioux City died Monday, Dec. 28, 2015, at a local hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home, with the Rev. Michael J. Cronin officiating. Visitation will be noon until service time Thursday at the funeral home.
KaSandra was born on Sept. 14, 1961, in Sioux City, the daughter of Curly and Kathleen (O'Meara) Casper. She attended Immaculate Conception School, graduating from East High School. KaSandra continued her education at Western Iowa Tech Community College, Briar Cliff and Colorado Technical University.
She married Edward Poeckes on Aug. 20, 1988. They made their home in Sioux City. KaSandra worked at many different organizations throughout Sioux City. Her last job being with the Sioux City Journal.
She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, photography and bowling.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Poeckes of Sioux City; two sons, A.J. Poeckes and Eric Poeckes of Sioux City; mother, Kathleen Casper of Sioux City; and cousins, other relatives and friends.
KaSandra is preceded in death by her father, Curly Casper.
