Katherine Kristine "Kathy" Reinert (Reinert)

Katherine "Kathy" Reinert, 56, of Sioux City passed away Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with the Rev. Craig Collison officiating. Visitation will be today from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with the family present 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and a Parish Vigil Service at 7:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Morningside Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home. Katherine Kristine Reinert was born May 26, 1953, in Le Mars, Iowa, to Edward and Agnes "Bert" (Muller) Reinert. She attended and graduated from Riverside High School with the class of 1971. She studied accounting at a local vocational school for two years.
She worked for Matney's Westside Nursing Home and later for Interbake Foods for 15 years. She was known for her heart of gold.
She is survived by her brother, John Reinert of Sioux City; a sister, Marilyn Raveling and Ken Connaughty of Minnesota; brothers, Alan Reinert of Sioux City and Dennis Reinert of Minnesota; sisters, Barb Reinert and Lisa Reinert and Ronnie Platson, all of Minnesota; a brother, Paul Reinert of Sioux City; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Sarah Hunt; and a son, Tyler Hunt.
Pallbearers will be Shane Raveling, Ryan Raveling, Ronald Platson, Brett Harris, Paul Reinert, Alan Reinert, Dennis Reinert, John Reinert, Mike Fleming and Ken Connaughty. Honorary pallbearers will be Rachel Raveling, Tina Reinert, Courtley Platson, Kari Cheever, Jill Conner, Wendell Hunt, Patrick Hunt, Carter Vandekamp, Mason Raveling, Dylan Rose Berg, Tori Tuttle, Grandma Jerry Sterling and Patty Fleming.
