SIOUX CITY -- Kathleen Patricia Linden a former resident of Sioux City, passed away suddenly Jan. 27, 2012, in Garfield, Ark.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Sioux City. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, with a rosary at 5 p.m. and a parish vigil service at 7 p.m., at Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Sioux City.
Kathy was born Nov. 1, 1934, in Sioux City, to parents John and Margaret Anderson. She was the oldest of eight children. Kathy graduated from Heelan High School, where she was a cheerleader.
She married her first husband, Gary G. Bogenreif in 1955, in Sioux City. They had five children. Kathy received her degree in radiology at Sacred Heart in Yankton, S.D. Her careers included working as a secretary for the high school principal in Rock Port, and as the director of radiology in Fairfax, Mo., where she retired after more than 20 years of service in 1999. Kathy married Bill Linden on March 23, 1995. Kathy and Bill retired on Beaver Lake in Garfield, Ark., where they built their dream home together.
Kathy was a Queen of the Red Hat Society, a past president of the Hobbits, and a past president of the American Business Women's Association.
Kathy leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband, Bill Linden of the home; her children, Gary L. Bogenreif of Waverly, Iowa, Sherry (Bill) Anders of Papillion, Neb., Lori Wilczek of Polo, Mo., Julie (Mike) Umbarger of Westboro, Mo., and Margee (David) Hendrickson of Carter Lake, Iowa; stepchildren, Theresa Grutz of Dubuque, Iowa, David (Jill) Linden of Denver, Colo., Tim (Patty) Linden of Solon, Iowa, Laura (Mike) Deskin of Claremore, Okla., Jim (Kim) Linden of Solon, and Peggy Linden of Coralville, Iowa; siblings, Jeaneen Nacke of Sioux City, John Anderson of Laguna Woods, Calif., Rose Marie Bennett of Poulsbo, Wash., Jimmy Anderson of Sioux City, David Anderson of Lake Bluff, Ill., Mike Anderson of Lincoln, Neb., and Mark Anderson of Eden Prairie, Minn.; 12 grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and 11 great-stepgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be directed to the Kathleen Linden Radiology Student Scholarship Memorial.
