SIOUX CITY -- Kathryn E. Hartnett, 74, Sioux City died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, at a Sioux City nursing home.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Larkin Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.
Kathryn was born Jan. 4, 1937, in Sioux City, the daughter of Ralph and Catherine (Quinn) Walsh. She was raised in Waterbury, Neb., and graduated from Ponca (Neb.) High School. Kathryn came to Sioux City as a young woman. She worked at the telephone company and then she sold cosmetics at a Sioux City department store.
In 1959, she married Richard Hartnett in Sioux City. Her faith was a very important part of her life.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was very active with Right to Life and World Vision. Kathryn loved keeping a nice home for her family and enjoyed cooking. The most important part of her life was her children and grandchildren. She was known for her love of visiting with family and friends.
She is survived by her two children, Daniel P. of Sioux City and Mary Clare of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Daniel, Richard, John Hartnett and Katherine Hartnett; three brothers, Daniel, David and Sam Walsh; and two sisters, Mary Lou Cooley and Clare Tracy.
