Kendall W. Crawford, 75, of Moville died Sunday, June 16, 2013, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Moville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ed Frank officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville.
Kendall was born on Sept. 27, 1937, near Moville, the son of Lyle and Leona (Thiesen) Crawford. He grew up near Moville and graduated from Moville High School.
Kendall married Shirley Fisher on July 13, 1956. They made their home in Moville. Over the years, Kendall worked at Knapp & Spencer Hardware Wholesale until its closing, Wright & Wilhelmy and Hatfield Hardware until his retirement.
Kendall was a member of Moville United Methodist Church, a charter member of the Meadows Golf Course and was active in the Jaycees. He coached his sons in Little League and enjoyed attending all of his children and grandchildren’s activities.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley of Moville; a son, Mike and Kathy Crawford of Moville; daughter, Tami and Lloyd Jenness of Moville; daughter, Kim and Doug Heck of Moville; son, Jeff and Geri Crawford of Le Mars, Iowa; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four sisters, Vera and Walt Sterrett of Marcus, Iowa, Phyllis and Kenneth Anderson of Moville, Doris Mortensen of Le Mars, and Shirley Kuraz of Lawton, Iowa; and a brother, Gerald Crawford of Arizona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Bethene Crawford, Audrey Rippke and Katherine Smith; and a brother, Dale Crawford.
