MOVILLE, Iowa -- Kenneth Eugene Baird, 87, of Moville died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville. Burial will be in West Fork Township Cemetery, Climbing Hill, Iowa.
Ken was born March 23, 1923, in West Fork Township, the son of Vern and Alice (Smith) Baird. He graduated from Climbing Hill High School. He entered the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was honorably discharged in 1945. Ken farmed his entire life in the Climbing Hill and Moville area.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include a nephew, Mike and Linda Baird of Moville; a niece, Angela and Roger Price of Akron, Iowa; two grandnephews, Mat Baird and Anthony Baird, both of Moville; eight grandnieces, Laura and Joe Krajlcek of Moville, Audrey Baird of Cherokee, Iowa, Courtney Baird of Moville, Brooke Baird of Moville, Lisa and Ramon Martinez, Katie Docken, Annie and Daniel Middleton and Amanda Moon, all of Sioux City; several great-grandnephews and great-grandnieces; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Vern Baird; and two brothers, Donald Baird and Duane "Tiny" Baird.
