LAWTON, Iowa -- Kevin Lee Willer, 51, of Lawton died Monday, March 9, 2009, at his residence.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Community Presbyterian Church in Lawton, with the Rev. John McKinley officiating. Burial will be in Banner Township Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., a Masonic service at 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m., at McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville, Iowa. Kevin was born Nov. 28, 1957, in Sioux City, the son of Jim and Irene (Johnson) Willer. He was raised and attended school in Lawton, graduating from Lawton-Bronson High School in 1977.
He married Rita Day. They were later divorced. He was a lifelong farmer in the Lawton area.
He was a generous man who liked to help his neighbors in need. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church, the Moville Masonic Trial Lodge 532, Abu Bekr Shrine Rat Patrol, Tri-State Antique Tractor Club and Tri-State 2x4 Pullers Association. He enjoyed tractor rides, trucking and watching NASCAR.
Survivors include a son, Casey and Landie Washburn of Lawton; two grandchildren, Hannah and Avery Washburn of Lawton; his parents, Jim and Irene Willer of Lawton; two sisters, Connie and Mike Salviola of Sioux City and Becky and Jerry Holbrook of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; a brother, Scott and Kay Willer of Phillipsburg, Kan.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and an uncle, George Willer.
