Kimberly K. DeVall, 56, of Sioux City, IA, died Thursday, May 13, 2021, in Sloan, IA after a short battle with cancer.

Kimberly Kay Shockey, the daughter of Eugene Francis and Verna (Ferdig) Shockey was born December 11, 1964, in Sioux City. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1983.
On September 1, 1990, Kimberly was united in marriage with John Kevin DeVall in Latham Park in Sioux City, but the couple were originally married by Common Law November 26, 1983. She was employed at the Argus Leader, the Carmike Theater, and then Sunshine Foods.
In 1987, Kimberly attended Stewart’s School of Beauty. She worked for Pepperdine’s Restaurant, United Vending, Pepsi of Siouxland, Sioux City Community Schools, Fed Ex (both Ground and Express), and Jensen Imports. In 2008, she became the owner of Kim’s Café.
Kimberly earned an Associate’s Degree in Technical Studies-Computer Programming for Western Iowa Community Technical College on May 16, 2014.
Kimberly was a member of the Business Professionals of America. She loved playing cribbage, riding motorcycles, and reading. Kimberly also enjoyed cooking, baking, and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and friends. Kimberly was an avid bingo player throughout her life, enjoying playing games and managing multiple bingo halls. She will be most remembered as a loving mother, wife, and grandmother.
Kimberly is survived by her husband John K. DeVall of Sioux City; children, John Michael (Solveigh) DeVall of Sioux City, Coty DeVall of Sioux City, Brittany DeVall of McCook Lake, SD, Katelyn (Lucas) Whitt of Sloan, IA; grandchildren, MaKenzie Morrison of Le Mars, IA, Aleksander DeVall of McCook Lake, Aiden Edsill of Sloan; mother, Verna Shockey; brother, Eugene Shockey; and numerous nieces, nephews, and family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Sophia Ferdig Walsh; her father, Eugene Shockey, Sr.; uncles, Alvin Ferdig, Butch Stewarts, Butch Shockey, and Dave Shockey; and her grandparents, Elenore and Raymond Shockey.
