Kimberly Anne Lucas

     Kimberly Anne Lucas, 59, of Sioux City, passed away November 29, 2023, after a brief illness. 

     Funeral services will be at 2:30 pm on Friday, December 1, 2023, at Christy Smith Funeral Homes Morningside Chapel (located at 1801 Morningside Ave in Sioux City) with Pastor Janell Norton presiding. The burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery on Thursday, December 7^th at 3:00 pm.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday.

     Kimberly was born December 21, 1963, in Sacramento, CA to James C. and Elizabeth (Moore) Lucas.  The family moved to Sioux City in 1968 and Kim has resided here ever since.  Kimberly worked at the Balloon – Print Shop for Mid-Step services for many years.  When she was done working for the day, she loved to go outside and wave at cars and people as they went by. 

     Kimberly loved music and listening to the radio, people watching and being around people, especially her family and her friends at Mid-Steps and Park View. She loved pop, tea, coffee, and her babies. Kimberly’s mom was her everything. She missed her mom every day since her passing, always asking her siblings “where’s mom?”, she wanted to go be with her, now they are together again. 

     Survivors include her Stepdad, Edward Dawdy, brother, James Lucas, sister, Rita (Scott) Taylor, brother, Christian Bowder, brother, Jason Bowder, stepsister, Vicki Dawdy, step- brother, John Dawdy, stepbrother, Eddie mac Dawdy, several nieces and nephews, and her Mid-Steps and Park View family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, James C. Lucas and Elizabeth “Libby” Smith and best friend Patty.

     Kimberly gave the gift of life by being an organ donor.  The family encourages everyone to consider becoming a donor.
